The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2012. In the ever-changing scenario of the modern-day industry, civil engineers are the ones who are bridging the gap between normal civil engineers and the need for modernization. The first, the classical field of civil engineering, deals with the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of structures and infrastructure. These include buildings, foundations, bridges, transportation facilities, nuclear and conventional power plants, hydraulic structures, and other facilities essential to society.

Since the inception of the Department, our objective has been to conduct research on challenging engineering problems and to provide effective engineering solutions in the various subdisciplines of Civil Engineering. Transportation Systems Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Structural Engineering, Remote Sensing, and Construction Technology and Management are the department's primary research areas.
