The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2012. In the ever-changing scenario of the modern-day industry, civil engineers are the ones who are bridging the gap between normal civil engineers and the need for modernization. The first, the classical field of civil engineering, deals with the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of structures and infrastructure. These include buildings, foundations, bridges, transportation facilities, nuclear and conventional power plants, hydraulic structures, and other facilities essential to society.
To form an excellent centre of regional and national reputation for providing quality education in the field of Civil Engineering and to produce Industry ready civil Engineers; to inculcate applied research, innovation and Entrepreneurial skill.
To provide technical & professional Skills and ethical values to serve the society.
To reshape the department into centre of excellence in the field of Civil Engineering.
To motivate students to pursue higher Education, Competitive Exams, with required skills and Trainings.
To offer world-class undergraduate and postgraduate education, research guidance, professional consultancy, outreach, and manpower training as well as leadership in Civil Engineering.
As the societal problems are multidimensional, so must be our approach to combating them. Since the inception of the Department, our objective has been to conduct research on challenging engineering problems and to provide effective engineering solutions in the various subdisciplines of Civil Engineering. Transportation Systems Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Structural Engineering, Remote Sensing, and Construction Technology and Management are the department's primary research areas.
DVSIET - Civil Engineering deaprtment delivering excellence in education. Several former students of this department currently hold prestigious positions in academia, research organisations, industry, government, and other fields. Through training programmes, workshops and conferences with internationally renowned individuals, the Department disseminates the knowledge. Students and faculty members have won prestigious national honours and awards, and continue to bring honours to the Department and the Institute.
Our goal is to provide the best to our students, society, and the nation.
